John MacDonald brings nearly 30 years experience in legislative and government relations, media and communications planning, public speaking, writing, community relations and business affairs. For more than 15 years, John has worked as a private consultant, addressing the needs of a wide variety of clients at the Arizona Legislature and many other arenas. In 2008, the Arizona Capitol Times named him Arizona's "Lobbyist of The Year."
His legislative expertise includes such diverse areas as municipal issues, health care, transportation, disruptive technology, energy, judicial administration, telecommunication, Native American issues, gaming and water management.
Prior to working in the private sector, John spent 4 years as the Public Affairs Officer for the Arizona Supreme Court and 7 years as Director of Government Affairs for the Arizona Attorney General's Office. In these positions he was responsible for all government relations efforts, policy analysis, legislative affairs, media relations, public relations, office administration and special projects.
John graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He is an Arizona native, and for many years was a biweekly columnist for The Arizona Republic, the state's largest daily newspaper, writing on a wide variety of topics.
